One of the spreads may be having trouble dealing with the gradient applied. It is merely a viewing technicality. Personally I like the black version more than the full colour.
It is certainly smarter, not as people friendly perhaps, and the tone is a little more serious. However it will have the obvious difference of being a one colour print and therefore 'friendly.'
