Garry Barker : Contextual Guidance #3

Cabinet Magazine

It is hard to find content in semi-commercial magazines, but this example shows a few design features that Garry might have picked up on.

The colour coded chapters, headers and footnotes. Also with ranged left text with a rigid grid.
There are some interesting decisions that can be taken away from this magazine, but overall I found flicking through the entire book dull. There was not enough play or expression. It was simply a series of images with standard 2 column body text running throughout.
